Pakistan has recalled its ambassador from Iran and declared its intention to exercise its right to respond following missile attacks on its territory, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.

The Foreign Ministry labeled Iran’s missile attack as an “unprovoked and flagrant violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty,” asserting that it contravened international law and the principles outlined in the UN Charter.

The statement continued, “This illegal act is absolutely unacceptable and has no justification. Pakistan reserves the right to respond to this illegal act, and Iran will bear the full consequences. We have communicated this message to the Iranian government, informing them of Pakistan’s decision to recall its ambassador from Iran. Additionally, the return of the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan, currently in Iran, is postponed indefinitely.”

It was further revealed that Pakistan has opted to suspend all ongoing or planned high-level visits between the two nations in the coming days.

Accusing Iran of violating its airspace, Pakistan reported casualties, including the unfortunate death of two children. The incident is viewed by Pakistan’s foreign ministry as having potentially “serious consequences.”

While details regarding the specific location and nature of the airspace violation were not disclosed by Pakistan, they have officially protested to Tehran. Iran has yet to issue an official response to the accusations.
