Georgian and Belgian officials discussed Georgia-EU relations, challenges in the partnership and the need for full-fledged political dialogue during meetings held in Brussels, the Georgian Parliament's press office said on Thursday.
The talks involved Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee and Levan Makhashvili, Chair of the European Integration Committee, who met with Belgian lawmakers, including Kathleen Depoorter, Deputy Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Representatives, MP Werner Somers and representatives of Belgium's Foreign Ministry.
The discussions also focused on Georgia's European integration process, recent developments in Georgia and the wider region, as well as prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation.
The sides additionally exchanged views on strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and deepening cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
