Georgian Parliamentary delegation heads to US for NATO assembly

A delegation from the Georgian Parliament has departed for the United States to attend the Spring Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which is taking place in Dayton, Ohio, from 22 to 26 May.
Led by Givi Mikanadze, Chair of the Parliament's Committee on Education, Science and Youth Affairs, the delegation will represent Georgia at one of NATO's key parliamentary forums. Mikanadze emphasised the importance of the event, calling it "an important parliamentary platform for Georgia to present the country’s position on regional security issues."
The session's agenda includes discussions on global and regional security challenges, with a particular focus on the Black Sea region and the ongoing Russian military aggression in Ukraine. Lawmakers are also expected to examine measures to strengthen democratic resilience and assess developments in the Balkans, marking the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
Joining Mikanadze in the delegation are Levan Makhashvili, Chair of the European Integration Committee, and Mariam Lashkhi, First Deputy Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee.
