Mikheil Maghlakelidze appointed Head of Georgia’s Investigative Service at Finance Ministry

Mikheil Maghlakelidze has been appointed as the new Head of the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, according to an official decree issued by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on June 24.
The appointment is based on Article 13 of the Law of Georgia on the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance.
Maghlakelidze previously served as Deputy Head of the Protective Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs since 2019. Over the years, he has held various roles within the public sector, including positions at the Tbilisi Municipal Inspection, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and within the Finance Ministry’s system.
His past experience includes leading the Kvemo Kartli Division of the Financial Police’s Investigative Department, as well as serving as Deputy Head of the Adjara Division of the Revenue Service's Investigative Department.
The Ministry of Finance emphasized that Maghlakelidze brings extensive experience in public safety, inspection, and investigative operations to his new role overseeing one of the country’s key financial oversight bodies.
