Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili says that the country is not ‘at any risk’ amid hostilities in Ukraine ‘despite existing challenges and provocations.’

He stated earlier that the United National Movement opposition party ‘is trying to drag the country into the Russia-Ukraine war.’

“The ruling Georgian Dream party is maintaining peace and stability in the country,” Garibashvili said earlier today, noting that ‘despite challenges in the region, we should maintain a high economic growth.’

He claimed that Georgia had 18 percent economic growth in January.

Amid critical statements being made by Ukrainian officials that Georgia refused to join sanctions against Russia and that Tbilisi has plans to export dairy products and wine to Russia, Garibashvili said that 140 tonnes of the humanitarian aid has been sent to Ukraine and that Tbilisi has expressed support for the country in all international platforms.
