Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili says that the United National Movement opposition party, which he says is a ‘radical opposition,’ is happy with current hostilities in Ukraine and is trying to use the war for its ‘narrow political interests.’
“ I will be open to say that they (the UNM) wish to see the war in Georgia again and the repetition of the 2008 events,” Garibashvili said in response to the opposition’s criticism that the Georgian government does not express sufficient support for Ukraine. Garibashvili once again slammed the opposition, accused them of ‘not-preventing the war’ while in office and ‘running from the battlefield.’
He stated that the government ‘has done its utmost’ on the international level to express support for Ukraine, also provided money and goods for the humanitarian aid and ensured support for Ukrainian citizens who are now in Georgia.
