PM Garibashvili to journalists: we’ve fought Russia three times, you can pray for Zelensky

Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili told journalists on Friday that Georgia has already fought Russia three times and has undergone “thousands of hardships”, stating that “there will be no war, we give the guarantee to our people.”

 

He stated that Georgians had done their utmost to provide 550 tons of humanitarian aid for the Ukrainian people.

 

“People, appreciate this, calm down. You can pray for Zelensky every day. I will pray for our country and the unification of our country,” Garibashvili said, reiterating that Georgia is ahead of 190 countries in the capacity of humanitarian cargo.

 

The Ukrainian authorities say that they “need to feel the support of the Georgian government,” while the Georgian Dream authorities say that they have stood by Ukraine in all international platforms and in terms of humanitarian aid.

 

The Georgian PM and other state officials said that the affiliates of the Georgian opposition, who are currently in high posts in Ukraine, are interested in  dragging Georgia in Russia’s war in Ukraine.
