Police arrest suspect in foiled TBC Bank robbery attempt in Tbilisi

The Georgian law enforcement on Thursday apprehended a 40-year-old suspect with a previous criminal record following his foiled attempt the previous day to rob the TBC Bank branch on Tsintsadze Street in Tbilisi. 

The alleged offender is facing charges related to robbery and the illegal purchase, storage, and carrying of firearms, the Georgian Interior Ministry said, with the crime carrying a maximum penalty of up to seven years of imprisonment.

The accused attempted to rob the branch brandishing a firearm to threaten and intimidate. However, he abandoned his attempt and fled the scene without completing the crime, the body added.
