Two arrested in Georgia for drug-related offenses involving large quantities

The Main Division for Combating Drug Trafficking under Georgia’s Central Criminal Police Department has detained two individuals on charges related to drug crimes following operative and investigative actions.
The suspects — a Georgian citizen born in 1986, identified as G.Q., and a Russian citizen born in 1962, identified as E.V. — were arrested for the illegal purchase and possession of large and especially large quantities of narcotics, facilitating illegal distribution, and the unlawful cultivation of drug-containing plants.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, law enforcement officers seized various narcotic substances during searches conducted at the suspects’ residences and a warehouse used by one of them. The seized substances include methadone, dried marijuana, THC-containing material, and cannabis plants.
In addition, police confiscated materials used for cultivating narcotic plants.
The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260, 260¹, and 265¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia. If convicted, the accused face up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
