Officers of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Central Criminal Police Department, Main Division for Combating Organised Crime, have arrested B.A., a Georgian citizen born in 1998, who was wanted by the Republic of Turkey, the body said on Sunday.
The Ministry said the suspect, who had a prior criminal record, was being sought by Turkish authorities on charges of premeditated murder and unlawful access to computer data for financial gain.
Investigators determined that B.A. crossed into Georgia before an international search warrant was issued against him.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that pre-extradition procedures, as provided by law, were now underway.
