Ukrainians sometimes demand more and more from their partners, not just from Georgia. Rude expressions are even used against different partners. Yes, they want to get weapons from Georgia as well and Tbilisi to open a second front. All this is impossible, Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili has stated in her recent interview with Deutsche Welle.

She stated that the Georgian government “is more realistic about what the country can do at this stage.”

“Given that we have two occupied regions and one of them is talking about holding a ‘referendum’ to join Russia, obviously we have to be careful, because we do not have many resources and no one will be ready to support Georgia [unlike Ukraine], but it does not change the level of solidarity we have with Ukraine,” Zourabichvili stated.

She said that a war with Russia is not in the country’s interests as Georgia lacks resources to win.

Zourabichvili suggested that what the country needs for its security “is a faster, more reliable way to integrate into the EU and NATO.”
