President Zurabaishvili meets with Macron on last day of her French trip

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili met with her French counterpart Emmanuel Macron late yesterday, on the last day of her recent trip to France which began on September 26. 

 

Georgian and French presidents paid tribute to the memory of fallen soldiers at the Triumphal Arch, accompanied by Georgian and French national anthems.

 

The presidents laid a wreath and observed a minute of silence in memory of the fallen soldiers for France, after which Macron and Salome Zurabishvili held a face-to-face meeting. 

 

During her  recent visit  to France, Zurabishvili posthumously awarded a number of distinguished Georgians, including Dimitri Akhvlediani. 

 

Zurabishvili, who is the fifth and the first female president of Georgia, was born in France.
