An official welcoming ceremony for the president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has been held at the presidential palace in Tbilisi.

Aliyev was received by Georgia’s president, Mikheil Kavelashvili, the president’s press office said on Monday.

The ceremony included the performance of the national anthems of both countries.

As part of the state visit, a one-on-one meeting between Kavelashvili and Aliyev is scheduled to take place at the presidential palace.

Aliyev is visiting Georgia accompanied by his wife and an official delegation.
