A protest has erupted in front of the Georgian Parliament, with demonstrators blocking Rustaveli Avenue to express their demands.

On the 56th consecutive day of ongoing protests, participants remain steadfast in their calls for the government to schedule new elections and release individuals detained during earlier demonstrations.

The protests were triggered by a controversial statement made by PM Irakli Kobakhidze on November 28, saying Georgia has postponed opening negotiations on European Union membership until 2028. the statement sparked widespread public outcry and accusations of stalling the country’s European aspirations.
