The ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party MP Beka Davituliani has advised Ukrainian officials to act “more rationally” and “control emotions,” responding to recent interview of Ukraine’s presidential advisor Mikhailo Podolyak in which he slammed the Georgian government and suggested that they (the GD) are under the influence of “Russian oligarch Bidzina Ivanishvili.”
In his interview for VoA Podolyak also expressed his surprise on how “brave and proud Georgian people” could tolerate Ivanishvili’s role, who founded the Georgian Dream coalition and defeated the United National Movement in the 2012 parliamentary race.
Davituliani suggested that “it has never been and will not be the business of Kyiv who will be in power in Georgia.”
“I understand that this country is at war and it is difficult to control emotions at this time and that it (Kyiv) wants to see other countries at war with Russia, but they (Ukrainians) should act more rationally,” Davituliani said on Thursday.
Podolyak said that the attitude of the Georgia Dream authorities and not the Georgian people to Russia’s war in Ukraine contracted with the position of the West.
