The ruling Georgian Dream party MP Irakli Kadagishvili says that the decision of Russia to open a market for Georgian dairy products amid its invasion of Ukraine is ‘provocative’ and that other provocative moves are also expected from the country to add to escalation.

Kadagishvili reiterated that the Georgian Dream government has not requested the opening of the market during hostilities in Ukraine.

“Separate Georgian companies requested this three years ago and Russia decided to meet the request only now,” he said.

He noted that Russia’s move does not mean Georgia wil export the products.

“We will discuss the issue with partners,” Kadagishvili said.

Kyiv says that exporting products to Russia by Georgia during the war is unacceptable.
