Five more emergency workers were wounded while extinguishing a fire sparked by an attack in the western Ternopil region.

Three emergency service workers have been killed and at least 14 others injured in a wave of Russian missile and drone attacks across Ukraine overnight, Ukrainian officials said.

The fatalities occurred in Kyiv, where rescuers from the State Emergency Service (SES) were clearing debris from earlier strikes when they came under renewed shelling.

“They were working under fire to help people,” Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said. “Nine more workers were injured, some of them seriously. Doctors are fighting for their lives.”

The SES later identified the fallen responders as Pavlo Ezgor, Danylo Skadin, and Andriy Remenoi, sharing their photos and paying tribute to their service.

“The Russians took the lives of those who were first to respond to the consequences of a terrible strike,” the agency said in a statement. “People who went to work as usual - in full readiness - hugged their wives and children before leaving, and never returned.”

Elsewhere, five more emergency workers were wounded while extinguishing a fire sparked by an attack in the western Ternopil region.

Kyiv, Ternopil, Chernihiv, Lutsk, and parts of the Lviv region were among the areas targeted in what officials described as a mixed strike involving Shahed drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles.
