Russia has accused Ukraine of striking a fuel depot in its city of Belgorod earlier today, claiming that two Ukrainian military helicopters stood behind the huge explosion.

It is the first accusation of a Ukrainian air strike on Russian soil since Moscow invaded Ukraine on February 24.

The governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov via his Telegram channel said: “The emergency services went to the place of fire, measures are being taken to eliminate it”.
