Russia buys artillery shells and missiles from North Korea, New York Times (NYT) said on Tuesday based on the data of American intelligence.

According to United States officials, the purchase of weapons from North Korea proves that the sanctions imposed against Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine are effective and have an impact on the Kremlin’s conduct of war, said the media outlet.

A senior US official told the NYT that the arms deal with Pyongyang is a sign of Moscow’s “desperation”.

An expert of the American think tank ISW, suggested that the Kremlin should be worried that it has to buy anything from North Korea.
