Russia plans to return troops to the Ukrainian border. This may happen at the end of July in preparation for the Zapad-2021 exercise.

Oleksay Arestovich, advisor to the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group, announced this on the air on Ukraine 24.

He said that the Russian Federation withdrew from 30% to 50% of the personnel, but the military equipment remains.

“Considering that in September there will be an active phase of the Russian-Belarusian exercises Zapad-2021, they will start the transfer of troops again at the end of July,” – Arestovich said.

According to him, at the end of July Ukraine will return to the same situation "which was two weeks ago." But before that, Arestovich noted, there will be a meeting between the Presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden.
