Russian-controlled occupation forces detain six Georgian citizens

The Russian controlled occupation forces on Friday illegally detained six Georgian citizens near the Mejvriskhevi village, in central Georgia, Aleksandre Batiashvili, the deputy head of the Georgian State Security Service confirmed.  

 

“I want to tell you one sad fact that six more of our fellow citizens were illegally detained by the occupation forces this morning. The hotline has been activated, our international partners are involved. Their detention has been confirmed and we are waiting for further developments. We will do our best to get these people as soon as possible”, the official told lawmakers.  

 

According to reports, one of the six abducted citizens managed to escape, while five remain in the captivity of the occupiers.
