The Embassy of Georgia in Israel has called on Georgian citizens to strictly follow the instructions issued by local authorities amid the deteriorating security situation.

In a statement on Saturday, the embassy outlined safety recommendations to be observed in the event of a “red alert” signal.

Citizens are advised to immediately seek shelter, preferably in a pre-identified protected space. While indoors, individuals should close all doors and windows and move to a designated safe room.

If caught outdoors without access to a shelter, people are instructed to lie face down on the ground and cover their heads with their hands. Those traveling by car should pull over safely, exit the vehicle, and proceed to the nearest shelter. If no shelter is available, they should lie face down and protect their heads.

The embassy further stressed that, in accordance with local government guidance, individuals must not remain at building entrances during alerts. Unless otherwise instructed, it is permitted to leave protected areas 10 minutes after the alarm has ended. Citizens are also warned not to approach any downed aircraft or suspicious objects and to immediately inform the police if such items are observed.

Georgian nationals in Israel for tourism purposes are advised to remain in their hotels during alert periods and to avoid visiting tourist sites or crowded public areas. The statement also recommends avoiding locations where there is a heavy presence of law enforcement personnel.

Additional safety updates are available through the Israel Defense Forces Home Front Command website. The embassy has urged citizens to monitor its official communication channels for further information.

In case of emergency, Georgian citizens may contact the Embassy of Georgia in Israel at +972 526 919092 via its 24/7 hotline.

The embassy concluded by expressing wishes for peace and safety for Israel and its population.
