Georgia’s national football team started its 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualification campaign with a defeat, losing 2:3 to Turkey in Tbilisi.
The match, played under the guidance of head coach Willy Sagnol, saw the Georgian side narrowly miss out on securing points in their first qualifier.
Georgia will face Bulgaria in their next match on September 7, also at Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi.
