“In the conditions of pandemic and economic crisis, regional challenges, our only way is to finally end the polarization” – President Salome Zurabishvili said at a briefing today. 

 

“We are facing local self-government elections, the appointment of which I signed yesterday. These elections should be exemplary, the rights of every person should be protected, which excludes violence, hate speech and insults, use of personal data, betrayal of competitors, obstruction of professional activities for media, spreading of fake news and other various kinds of pressure Our population expects such elections and such an election environment from us. I, as the guarantor of democracy, stability and Europeanness in this country, call for their involvement and activism, as our partners expect, and we ask them to appoint numerous observation missions, to hold democratic and fair elections in this country and  I came for, and will be here for that” – Zurabishvili said.
