The Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, together with the Customs Department of the Revenue Service of Georgia, has intercepted a major attempt to smuggle narcotics into Georgia, seizing 125 litres of liquid containing methamphetamine.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs on Tuesday said the operation took place at the Sadakhlo border crossing, where an Iranian national was detained on charges of attempting to import a particularly large quantity of illegal drugs.
During a detailed inspection of the suspect’s vehicle, authorities discovered that the methamphetamine-containing liquid had been hidden in an additional tank within the fuel system.
