Large quantity of narcotic drugs seized in Georgia

Officers of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Central Criminal Police Department have seized a particularly large quantity of narcotic drugs and detained one individual on drug-related charges.

The Ministry added a man born in 1973, identified as Z.E., was arrested on charges of illegal acquisition and possession of a particularly large amount of narcotic substances.

During a search of the suspect’s residence, law enforcement officers seized the narcotic drug buprenorphine as evidence. Police also confiscated cash believed to have been obtained through the illegal sale of drugs.

The crime is punishable by up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment.
