Two arrested for illegal cultivation, drug possession, and firearm offences in Georgia

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia on Sunday reported law enforcement officers had detained two individuals on charges related to drug cultivation, possession, distribution, and illegal firearm possession.
The Central Criminal Police Department said a 20-year-old identified as T.T. and a previously convicted 28-year-old identified as A.B. were arrested following operational and investigative measures. The charges include the group cultivation of a narcotic-containing plant in especially large quantities, acquisition and possession of narcotics in large amounts, facilitation of group distribution, and illegal purchase, storage, and carrying of firearms.
During searches of the suspects’ persons, vehicles, residences, and other locations, police seized 10 packages of narcotics, 15 cannabis plants, two pistols with a magazine and 14 rounds of ammunition, as well as equipment used for drug packaging, including adhesive tapes, zip-lock bags, and an electronic scale.
The Ministry noted the offences carry sentences of up to 12 years in prison.
