Interpol Red Notice fugitive arrested in Batumi

A Turkish citizen wanted under an Interpol Red Notice has been arrested in Batumi by officers of the Adjara Main Division of the Central Criminal Police Department of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The individual was being sought at the request of Turkish law enforcement authorities in connection with multiple serious crimes,the Ministry said on Thursday.

The convicted fugitive was located and detained in Batumi following investigative measures conducted by law enforcement officers.

Extradition procedures prescribed by law are currently underway.
