The crime carries a penalty of up to seven years in prison

Police in Tbilisi have arrested a man on charges of illegal purchase, possession and carrying of a firearm and ammunition, the Interior Ministry said on Friday.

Officers from the Patrol Police Department stopped the 1976-born suspect, identified as G.L., for inspection in the capital. During the check, law enforcement officers seized a revolver and ammunition as evidence.

The crime carries a penalty of up to seven years in prison.
