The agreement between the Government of Georgia and the Kingdom of Spain on the mutual recognition and exchange of national driving licenses has officially entered into force.

Under this agreement, holders of valid driver’s licenses from either country will be able to obtain a driver’s license of equivalent strength in the other nation without the need to pass additional theoretical or practical exams. This policy applies to individuals who are legal residents of either Georgia or Spain.

In addition to Spain, Georgia has signed similar agreements with other countries, including Ireland and the Hellenic Republic (Greece). The agreement with Ireland is already operational, allowing Georgian residents to exchange their driving licenses in the country. As for Greece, the agreement will enter into effect once the necessary internal procedures are completed by both governments.
