Serbian PM to resign amid protests

Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vucevic is set to announce his resignation today, according to Reuters, citing the Tanjug news agency.

This decision comes amid widespread protests in the country, triggered by public outrage over government corruption and the tragic collapse of a railway station roof in Novi Sad on November 1, which killed 15 people.

The protests, led by students, have been demanding accountability for the incident, which they believe was caused by poor construction standards and corruption within the government. Thirteen individuals, including former Serbian Transport Minister Goran Vesic, have been charged in connection with the collapse. Vesic resigned shortly after the tragedy, further fueling the protests.
