Georgian, North Macedonian speakers discuss cooperation, economic ties

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and the President of the Assembly of North Macedonia, Afrim Gashi, on Wednesday discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation between the countries, including at the parliamentary level, as well as in trade, economic relations, and tourism.

The Parliament’s press office said the meeting took place on the sidelines of the 152nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, held in Istanbul.

The body added the sides also discussed their respective paths toward European integration, highlighting progress and challenges faced by both countries as EU candidate states.
