According to the member of the parliamentary majority Shalva Papuashvili, the representatives of the opposition are preparing not for self-government elections, but for unrest. “As for the opposition’s pre-election tactics, I think we all clearly see that they are not preparing for the self-government elections, they are preparing for chaos.

They seem to have no election program, we see that they do not talk about the needs of the population.  It seems that at first they could not nominate candidates, could not find suitable candidates and finally we saw the nomination of party leaders and relatives as mayoral candidates who have no connection with these regions.

Consequently, it also appears that they have no interest in this election, they are preparing not for October 2, but for October 3, to start unrest again. Not naming the candidates, not presenting the program – they say that their chances are low. Of course, talking about victory here is superfluous.

September will be hard. Personally, I expect that there will be a torrent of dirt, misinformation, false information from our opponents, especially from the “National Movement” and the parties around it. Therefore, I urge the public to be ready for this and to critically analyze all the information, which, most likely, will be in September” – Shalva Papuashvili said.
