Students and parents from the Tbilisi Classical Gymnasium staged a demonstration outside the school, voicing opposition to the Georgian government’s decision to postpone discussions on opening European Union accession negotiations until 2028.

Protesters carried banners with slogans such as “We will not stop” and “We are Europe.”

“The Classical Gymnasium has always symbolized the nation’s public education. Located on Rustaveli Avenue, it stands as a beacon of progress. I urge all parents and citizens to understand the gravity of the current situation. We have no alternative; our future is European,” one of the parents told the press.

The school’s principal had reportedly expressed support for the protestors’ stance, highlighting the historical significance of the institution in shaping the country’s direction.
