Georgia’s newly appointed Interior Minister, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, has held a series of meetings with senior police officials to review priorities on crime prevention, public safety and law enforcement operations.
The minister met department directors alongside his first deputy, Roni Meskhi. Discussions focused on key areas of the ministry’s work, including efforts to combat various categories of crime across the country and strengthen preventive policing measures.
Tamazashvili thanked officers for their role in maintaining public order and issued further instructions regarding ongoing operational activities.
In a separate meeting, the minister also held talks with the head of the patrol police department, Levan Maisuradze, and other senior officials within the unit.
The ministry said the discussions highlighted the importance of the patrol police in ensuring public safety. The minister also stressed the need to continue improving the department’s performance, including increasing public access to police services.
Senior patrol police officials briefed the minister on current conditions related to crime prevention, public order and road safety.
