Gakharia for Georgia, Lelo opposition set to nominate joint candidates for municipal elections today

Kekenadze claimed that both the Tbilisi mayoral candidate and candidates in 64 other municipalities had been selected for their “high credibility"

The opposition parties Gakharia for Georgia and Lelo are set to announce their joint candidates for the October 4 local elections, including for capital Tbilisi, later on Monday, a member of ex-Prime Minister Gakharia’s party, Tamar Kekenadze, has announced.
Kekenadze confirmed that a final agreement on joint candidates had already been reached. She added that both the Tbilisi mayoral candidate and candidates in 64 other municipalities had been selected for their “high credibility.”
“As we have repeatedly told voters and citizens of Georgia in recent months and weeks, our main goal under the memorandum with Lelo for the municipal elections is to reach an agreement on all candidates, for both mayoral and majoritarian posts, in Tbilisi and across 64 municipalities,” she said.
Kekenadze further claimed the main criteria for both the Tbilisi mayor and candidates in other municipalities were “professionalism and high credibility”.
