Police arrested the suspect shortly after the incident during operational measures carried out in immediate pursuit, according to official

Georgia’s Interior Ministry on Wednesday said officers from the Old Tbilisi Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department have arrested an Azerbaijan national on charges of attempted murder.

The suspect, identified as N.A., born in 1991, allegedly injured a foreign citizen, identified as I.M., born in 1997, with a bladed weapon during an altercation in Tbilisi before fleeing the scene.

The injured man has been taken to a medical facility for treatment, the ministry said.

Police arrested the suspect shortly after the incident during operational measures carried out in immediate pursuit, according to officials.

The offence is punishable by up to 15 years in prison, the Interior Ministry added.
