Representatives of Georgian and Japanese businesses gathered in Tbilisi for a business forum aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two countries and promoting Georgia’s role in regional trade routes.
The event, titled Japanese Business in Georgia – A Bridge to the Middle Corridor, was held in partnership with TBC Capital. It was organised by the Embassy of Japan in Georgia, the Georgia-Japan Business Association, and the Istanbul office of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
The forum brought together around 100 participants, including leading Georgian and Japanese companies, investors and government officials.
Discussions during the event focused on Georgia’s investment climate and prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of renewable energy and logistics, the organizers said.
Speakers also highlighted Georgia’s growing role in international transportation and supply chains, particularly within the so-called Middle Corridor linking Asia and Europe.
In addition to the official programme, informal networking sessions were held to allow Japanese and Georgian companies to establish new contacts, discuss potential partnerships and explore cooperation across various sectors.
The forum was supported by several organisations and companies, including the Business Association of Georgia, Toyota Caucasus, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Georgia Office, Georgian Industrial Group and Silk Hospitality.
