Rescue teams continue working at the site of a Russian attack on a multi-storey residential building in Ternopil, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported, noting that 14 people remain unaccounted for as search efforts proceed around the clock.

According to officials, six residents previously listed as missing have since contacted authorities and are safe, while emergency crews continue combing debris until they are certain no victims remain beneath the rubble.

The strike occurred overnight on Wednesday, when Russian forces launched missile and drone attacks across Ukraine, destroying one of several multi-storey buildings hit in Ternopil. Authorities have confirmed more than 25 civilian deaths and dozens of injuries among residents of the high-rise structures.

Earlier on November 20, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said as many as 22 people could still be trapped under the debris.
