The number of COVID-19 infections in the world exceeded 117 million, the number of victims – 2.6 million

The number of detected infections with coronavirus in the world since the beginning of the pandemic on Tuesday morning amounted to 117 million 148 thousand 248, according to data from the American University of Johns Hopkins.

Worldwide, the number of deaths from diseases associated with COVID-19 increased per day to 2 million 600 thousand 63, more than 91 million people recovered.

Countries with 10 million or more COVID-19 infections include the United States, India and Brazil.

The United States remains the leader in the number of people infected and died, where a total of 29 million 44 thousand 110 infected COVID-19 were detected, 525 thousand 752 deaths were recorded, about 20 million people were cured.

The second largest number of people infected is India, where the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic amounted to 11 million 244 thousand 786, the number of deaths – 157 thousand 930, about 11 million people have recovered.

The third position in the world in terms of the number of infected in Brazil. Here, during the pandemic, 11 million 51 thousand 665 cases were registered, of which 266 thousand 398 people died, more than 9.8 million were cured.

According to the portal Worldometer, which specializes in statistics on the most important world events, the death rate per 1 million of the world's population was 335.1 on Monday morning. In the United States, 1 thousand 621 people died per 1 million inhabitants, in India – 114, Brazil – 1 thousand 248.
