The United States has summarized the outcomes of negotiations with Russian officials held in Saudi Arabia. The results of these talks differ from the US-Ukraine agreements by only one point.

According to the White House, following discussions between Russian and American officials:

The US and Russia agreed to ensure safe navigation, prevent the use of force, and prohibit the use of commercial vessels for military purposes in the Black Sea.

The US will assist Russia in restoring its agricultural and fertilizer exports to global markets, reducing maritime insurance costs, and improving access to ports and payment systems for such transactions.

The US and Russia agreed to develop measures to implement a prior agreement between President Trump and President Putin on banning attacks on energy facilities in Russia and Ukraine.

Both countries welcomed third-party good offices in supporting the implementation of energy and maritime agreements.

The US and Russia committed to continuing efforts toward a strong and lasting peace.

At the same time, the American side recalled US President Donald Trump’s demand for both parties to halt killings as a necessary step toward a long-term peace settlement.

To this end, the US will continue facilitating negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.

Following US-Ukraine talks, the White House released a similar statement to the one issued after discussions with Russia. The only difference was the second point, which, in the case of Ukraine, focused on US support for the exchange of military prisoners and the return of deported Ukrainian children.
