TI Georgia: elections mostly calm, up to 100 minor, serious violations reported

Transparency International Georgia (TI Georgia) says that today’s municipal elections in Georgia are being held mostly in a calm environment, with TI Georgia representatives reporting up to 100 minor and serious violations between 7 a.m. and 14 p.m. 

 

TI Georgia says that its observers have written 14 complaints on alleged double voting, alleged vote bribery,  pressuring observers and alleged violating the secrecy of vote. 

 

Georgia is holding municipal elections today. 

 

Voters will elect 2,068 members of 64 city assemblies and 64 mayors.

 

21,483 representatives from parties, 31,310 observers from 100 local organisations and 1,024 foreign observers from 52 international organisations are monitoring the race.
