Trump says Iran has ‘no cards left’ except maritime pressure ahead of talks

US President Donald Trump has said Iran has no leverage left except what he described as short-term pressure through international maritime routes.

“It seems the Iranians do not understand that they have no cards in their hand, except short-term blackmail of the world through international shipping routes,” he wrote.

“Alive only for negotiations,” he added.

The remarks come ahead of planned talks between US and Iranian delegations in Islamabad on April 11.
