US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said Ukraine had a chance to reclaim all of its territory within its original borders and, potentially, achieve even more.

“After reviewing the military and economic situation in Ukraine and Russia, and seeing the severe economic difficulties this war is creating for Russia, I believe that Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is ready to fight and restore its full territorial integrity. With time, patience, and Europe’s - especially NATO’s - financial backing, the restoration of Ukraine’s original borders, where this war began, is entirely possible. Why not?” Trump wrote on social media.

He noted Russia had been waging what he called a “senseless war” against Ukraine for more than three and a half years.

“When the people living in Moscow and all the major cities, towns and districts throughout Russia learn what is really happening with this war, the fact that it is almost impossible for them to get gasoline due to the long queues that are forming, and all the other things that are happening in their war economy, where most of their money is spent fighting Ukraine, which has a Great Spirit and is only getting better, Ukraine will be able to return its country to its original form and, who knows, maybe even go further”, Trump added.

The US President stressed that Vladimir Putin was facing economic difficulties, and said now was Ukraine’s time to act.

He also confirmed the United States would continue supplying NATO with weapons to ensure the alliance could deploy them as it deems necessary.
