US President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to distance himself from the ongoing war in Ukraine, calling it “Biden’s war” and asserting that the conflict would have never started under his leadership.

In a post published on April 14, Trump declared, “The War between Russia and Ukraine is Biden’s war, not mine. I just got here, and for four years during my term, had no problem in preventing it from happening.” He emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin and other world leaders “respected your President,” claiming that he had “nothing to do with this war.”

Trump went further, linking the origins of the war to what he described as the “rigged” 2020 US Presidential Election. “If the 2020 Presidential Election was not RIGGED, and it was, in so many ways, that horrible War would never have happened,” he wrote.

The president also criticized both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Joe Biden for what he called a “horrible job” in allowing the war to erupt. However, Trump suggested that he is now focused on helping bring the war to an end. “Now we have to get it to STOP, AND FAST. SO SAD!” he concluded.
