Trump: Europe to provide Ukraine with security Guarantees, US will also be involved

Europe will provide Ukraine with significant security guarantees, US President Donald Trump said on Sunday in remarks to journalists at the Oval Office.

“You don’t yet know what kind of security guarantees we’re talking about, because we haven’t spoken publicly about the details. Europe will give them significant guarantees, but we will also be involved, in terms of support, to help them”, Trump said.

“I think if we reach an agreement, then there will not be a problem. But we will help, because I do not want to see people dying anymore”, he added.

Trump noted he had initially believed the resolution of the Russia-Ukraine issue would be “the easiest to achieve.”

“But it also turned out to be a major personal conflict. Nevertheless, we will eventually bring it to an end,” the US President said.
