Chair of the Supreme Council of Adjara Tsotne Ananidze has questioned how many partners must distance themselves before what he described as “Eurobureaucracy” reflects on its own mistakes.

Ananidze was commenting on media reports that Azerbaijan has suspended cooperation with the European Parliament across all areas.

In a post on social media, he said the geography of tensions is expanding, while European officials continue to present themselves as moral arbiters.

“It is interesting how many more partners it will take for the Eurobureaucracy to reflect on its own mistakes: Georgia, the United States, Azerbaijan… The geography of tension is growing, yet European bureaucrats still see themselves as infallible moral arbiters,” Ananidze wrote.
