Turkish president Tayyip Erdogan is visiting Ukraine today and has plans to meet with his counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky to mediate with Russia to ease current tension.

Along with the prior goal, Ankara and Kyiv are expected to sign a free trade agreement and other deals.

Russia has denied any plans of invading Ukraine amid concerns of the international community over its build up of about 100,000 troops near the border.

One of Russia’s key demands to NATO is not to add Georgia and Ukraine as new members, claiming the move will pose threats to its security.

However, the US and NATO leaders believe that Russia is interested in restoring the Soviet Union and is trying to interfere in sovereign decisions of independent countries.
