Physically assaulted TV Pirveli journalist and caneraman stay in hospital

Two members of TV Pirveli’s crew, a journalist and a cameraman, remain hospitalized at Ingorokva Clinic after being attacked by masked individuals during a live broadcast last night.
Dr. Nino Kharashvili, who is overseeing their care, provided an update on their condition, saying journalist Maka Chikhladze is recovering from dizziness and bruising around her eye, although her vision and eye movement remain unaffected. A CT scan showed no damage to her cranial bones. She also sustained a knee injury but is in stable condition.
Cameraman Giorgi Shetsiruli suffered a two-centimeter laceration on his neck, which required stitches. Upon arrival at the hospital, he exhibited symptoms of a concussion, including nausea and headaches. He is currently under observation in the neurosurgical department.
Dr. Kharashvili added, “Their condition is stable, but they will remain in the hospital for further monitoring. Additionally, three other injured individuals are still being treated in our department.”
The attack occurred during a live broadcast when masked assailants physically assaulted the TV crew. Authorities are investigating the incident, which has sparked outrage and calls for justice from journalists and civil society groups.
