Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada recognises Russian army’s actions as genocide of Ukrainian people

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine recognised the actions committed by the Russian troops in the country as genocide of the Ukrainian people on Thursday.

A total of 363 MPs voted in favour of the resolution.

The Ukrainian legislature called on the United Nations, the European Parliament, the parliamentary assemblies of the Council of Europe, OSCE and NATO, as well as foreign governments and parliaments, to recognise Russia’s genocide of the Ukrainian people and the crimes against humanity and the territory of Ukraine.
